Red Bull New York recorded a much needed 3-2 victory over Orlando City SC on Saturday night in front of 22,104 spectators at Sports Illustrated Stadium. French star Antoine Griezmann would make his first appearance in New York after recently signing with Orlando City SC.

Red Bull came into the match having suffered two straight losses to start the second half of the season and were in need of a result. The Red Bulls were without three key contributors due to card accumulation and a red card suspension for Adri Mehmeti, and were looking for the replacements to help provide a spark. It wouldn't take long for that to happen as in the 23rd minute Swedish midfielder Emil Forsberg would play a through ball to the right side of the six-yard box to fellow Swede Gustav Berggren who would play a one-time cross into the box to Panamanian forward Mijahir Jimenez. Jimenez would place his shot into the bottom left corner to open the scoring. The goal would be the first MLS goal in his first MLS start for the 19 year-old forward. Jimenez had made his debut for the first team in the previous match, having scored 12 goals in 37 matches for New York Red Bulls II.

Red Bulls would double their lead in the 43rd minute as defender Justin Che would play a ball forward to winger Cade Cowell. Cowell would provide a brilliant cross into the middle of the box to Forsberg who would take a touch and place a shot into the bottom right corner. The Red Bulls would take a 2-0 lead into the half. However, Orlando City would soon get back into the match. In the 52nd minute French star Antoine Griezmann would play a corner kick near post to defender Griffin Dorsey who would flick it far post to midfielder Braian Ojeda who would head the ball into the back of the net. Red Bulls would quicky recover the two goal lead in the 60th minute. Dylan Nealis would join the attack and play a ball wide to Cowell who would cut inside and play a nice ball into the back that would be struck into the top right corner by the star of the night, Jimenez. In a back and forth affair Tyrese Spicer would play a cross into the box which would be flicked far post by Griezmann and subsequently placed into the back of the net by Dorsey to make it 3-2. The match would remain lively throughout with chances on both sides. Ethan Horvath would make key saves during the latter part of the match and Red Bulls would hang on to claim a 3-2 victory.

Bob Bradley will have decisions to make when the team returns to action as Gustav Berggren and Mijahir Jimenez did well in place of Adri Mehmeti and Jorge Ruvalcaba.
