Gotham FC celebrate 2026 Challenge Cup title. (photo courtesy of nwslsoccer.com) Gotham FC won the 2026 NWSL Challenge Cup by defeating the Kansas City Current 2-0 on Friday, June 26, 2026 in front of 11,369 fans at Scotts Miracle-Gro Field in Columbus, Ohio. The match made history as the first professional women's soccer match ever played in the state of Ohio.

Club América, fresh off of winning Mexico's Liga MX Femenil Clausura title on Sunday, defeated Gotham FC 4-1 in the semifinals of the Concacaf W Champions Cup. The New York side was looking to win the title once again after winning the inaugural W Champions Cup last spring.

Gotham FC goalkeeper Ann-Katrin Berger suffered an abdomen injury during last night’s Concacaf W Champions Cup semifinal. She is under evaluation and receiving care from medical professionals and team physicians in Mexico.
