New York Cosmos and William Paterson University to Host Pre-Screening of “Cosmos and the Cup: Local Legends – Global Glory” Exhibition

WAYNE, N.J. — William Paterson University will host an exclusive pre-screening of the New York Cosmos exhibition “Cosmos and the Cup: Local Legends – Global Glory,” celebrating the historic connection between the Cosmos, the FIFA World Cup, and Northern New Jersey’s role in the global game.


The pre-screening of “Cosmos and the Cup: Local Legends – Global Glory” will take place on Wednesday, June 3, at William Paterson University. Media preview and exhibit viewing will begin at 3:00 p.m., followed by the official program at 3:45 p.m.


The event will be held at William Paterson University in the University Commons, Room 211, located at 300 Pompton Road in Wayne, New Jersey. Parking will be available in Lot 5.


Featured speakers and guests will include William Paterson University President Richard J. Helldobler, New York Cosmos Majority Owner and Managing Partner Baye Adofo-Wilson, exhibition curator and Cosmos historian Dr. David Kilpatrick, and former New York Cosmos midfielder and FIFA World Cup player Vladislav Bogićević. Elected officials, university leadership, supporters, soccer enthusiasts, community leaders, students, and invited guests are also expected to attend.


William Paterson University serves as the Official University, Home, and Training Grounds of the New York Cosmos. The University has also played an important role in supporting FIFA World Cup-related initiatives and regional soccer programming leading into the FIFA World Cup in 2026.


The exhibition explores the Cosmos’ historic connection to the FIFA World Cup through the players, nations, and moments that helped shape soccer culture in the United States. The exhibit highlights the club’s international legacy while celebrating Northern New Jersey’s growing importance as a center of the global game.


Members of the media are invited to attend the pre-screening, tour the exhibition, and participate in the program featuring remarks from university and soccer community leaders.
