Giuseppi Rossi Resigns as Cosmos Head of Soccer

Sources close to the situation have confirmed that Giuseppe Rossi has resigned from his position as Head of Soccer with New York Cosmos. Rossi is also the Vice Chairman of the club.
A person familiar with the situation provided the following: "Ownership isn't fully committed and is distracted with other endeavors. They gave up on the direction established at the beginning of the year after a couple of months."
Initially, Rossi assembled a largely inexperienced roster for Cosmos, which led to challenges during the early phases of the project with head coach Davide Corti. Recently, Corti has been granted more influence over the club's new acquisitions, resulting in significant improvements. Rossi seemed to prioritize building a younger player base, but this approach did not yield favorable results on the field. In contrast, Corti's strategy of acquiring more experienced players has positively impacted the team's performance.
The Cosmos provided an official statement: "Giuseppe Rossi is no longer with the New York Cosmos. We have no further comment on this personnel matter."
