NYCFC takes down Chicago Fire 3-1

In a match played in front of 27, 419 spectators, New York City FC made it back-to-back wins after a comprehensive 3-1 victory over the Chicago Fire FC at Yankee Stadium on Saturday night.

Nicolás Fernández Mercau's stunning opener in the 11th minute was followed by goals from Agustín Ojeda in the 29th minute and Malachi Jones in the 41st minute, while Andrés Perea registered two assists in an influential display. Joel Waterman scored for Chicago in the 21st minute to level the score at one before Ojeda and Perea would score for New York. Matt Freese would produce several important second-half saves to help secure all three points for the home side.
