Points were shared once again at BMO Field as a resilient second-half display from Toronto FC forced a 1-1 draw against New York City FC, extending NYCFC’s frustrating winless streak to five matches. The result, identical to their previous 1-1 meeting on July 31 at Yankee Stadium, continues to highlight the persistent struggles of the Boys in Blue to close out victories on the road.
NYCFC, in need of points, began the match dominating possession but struggled to generate significant threats. However, they would get their breakthrough in the 29th minute.

In the 70th minute, Alonso Coello launched a precise long ball down the right flank to a racing Theo Corbeanu. Corbeanu expertly met the pass and slid a low, first-touch cross directly into the box, allowing Sallói to tap it past the outstretched arms of Matt Freese to equalize the match.
