The New York Cosmos have finalized the signing of former Dothan United SC defender Will Noecker. The 6’ 1 Noecker captained Dothan United during the 2025 USL2 season. He appeared in 19 matches for the club scoring 1 goal, being named the clubs Player of the Year. Noecker helped the side finish with a 16-2-1 overall record, claiming the Southern Conference title, and reaching the USL League Two national semifinals.
Prior to playing with Dothan United, the 24-year-old Fairfax, Virginia native played college soccer with Binghamton from 2020 – 2023, making 57 appearances and scoring three goals. He transferred to NC State in 2024, and made 19 appearances for the Wolf Pack, scoring 1 goal. He helped NC State reach the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Tournament.
In early 2025, Noecker impressed pro scouts at a tryout organized by partner club American Soccer Club of New York. He later tried out with the Cosmos on a recommendation by American Soccer Club. The contract is being reported to be a 25-day contract, but Noecker hopes to impress further in order to extend his stay with Cosmos. Noecker is expected to add much needed depth to a young Cosmos defensive unit.
